re-opening plan

We are opening the doors again this Sunday!  Like last Sunday, our opening is going to be pretty reserved.  We will be having two services in the gym. The reason being that two services will enable us to spread out farther apart from each other. I know. That goes entirely against our nature. We love being together, and we love being close. Shaking hands and hugging close. This is designed to help us be able to see each other again while keeping risk to a minimum, which we must do for awhile.

The two services will be at 8:00 and 9:30 a.m. This will give us time to wipe everything down between services. The seats will be spaced out for social distancing.

First service will start with an announcement or two at 8:00, communion will be at at 8:10, which will also be live-streamed on Facebook. Bruce will begin his message on Facebook, which will be projected on the screen when communion is over. Communion and the message will stay available on Facebook for folks to be able to view at any time.

We ask that all parking be on the lower lot. There will be no access to the main building from either the upper or lower entrances.

When you first arrive the doors will be stood open so you won’t need to touch door handles. There will be Christian Standards/Lookouts for you to pick up, and we ask that you use the hand sanitizer before you pick yours up so as to not pass anything on to the next person.

There will also be pre-packaged communion sets available, each containing both the juice and a wafer, set out when you first arrive in the gym, and spaced so that no one needs to touch anyone else’s. We continue to rejoice in your faithfulness in giving of your tithes and offerings. Offering receptacles will be there for your convenience. Of course, you are still invited to mail it to us if you prefer. Bland Christian Church, PO Box 192, Bland, MO 65014. Once again, sanitizer will be on the table for you to use.

There will be no youth church or nursery. Youth will sit with their families.

Here is Michelle Miller’s two cents:

Youth Church Kids...
I have made youth church packets for both age groups. The packets can be picked up from the table when families arrive. Please take the packet home and leave the clipboard on your chair. They will be collected and wiped down for next Sunday. Please bring crayons and markers from home. If you forget there will be some available on the table. Once you pick up a pack of crayons, keep them and bring them back with you the following Sundays.

Grace and Mercy For Everyone.

If you love those who love you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what benefit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you expect to receive, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he is kind to the ungrateful and the evil. Be merciful, even as your Father is merciful. Judge not, and you will not be judged; condemn not, and you will not be condemned; forgive, and you will be forgiven; give, and it will be given to you.

Luke 6:32-38

We believe that God has called us to announce his love to this world. Through our lives, jobs, families circles and friendships God has uniquely placed in our lives, we are to commit our lives to demonstrating God's immeasurable love as best as we can. When Jesus preached to the crowd in the verse above, He was quick to say that we are called to love those who are hard to love - not just the ones that love you in return. The Bland Christian Church exists to do just that. Express God's unending love and mercy to those that need it the most.
